Every year our branch raises funds to send junior high school girls to “Tech Trek,” a one-week AAUW camp at the Sonoma State University campus that introduces young women to the possibility of entering careers in science and math fields.

In October 2011, AAUW hosted a panel discussion on cyberbullying at St. Vincent’s High School. This event, which was open to the public, explained to interested members of the community, the problem of cyberbullying and potential solutions. WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH SPRING DINNER & MOVIE SOCIAL

At the spring 2012 SRJC-Petaluma film festival, a special AAUW dinner before the showing of the movie Miss Representation raised over $200 to support our Tech Trek girls. AAUW members were welcomed by Dr. Jane Saldana-Talley, Dean of the Petaluma campus of Santa Rosa Junior College; Christina Kauk, Chair of the Friends of Petaluma Campus, former AAUW President Doris Tolks; and Michael Traina, SRJC Film and Media Studies instructor and Director of the Petaluma Film Alliance.
